In Olive Class there are 30 children.  Our teacher is Miss Winterbone and our teaching assistants are Mrs Merrick, Mrs Butler and Mrs Wood.

We have been learning about clothes from around the world...

We looked at our own clothes.  We learnt which countries make up the UK and looked at some landmarks.  We then compared our clothes to those from different countries around the world.  We looked at Germany and made our own Bavarian Alpine Hats.

We have been learning about recycling...

We discussed what recycling is and why it is important.  We thought about the impact it has on the Earth and the potential impacts there would be if we didn't recycle, not just for us but on the environment and for animals too.  We then designed our own costumes made from recyclable materials and constructed the accessories in class.  We reflected on our costumes after and thought how we could improve them.

When the Wind Blows

We read the poem When the Wind Blows by Judith Nichols.  We thought about different ways to perform it: saying it, acting it out, using musical instruments.  We then wrote our own wind poems using all the language and poetic techniques we had learnt.
